hello to all, I deepest sympathies... your dad was one of a kind! I remember so many little things about him, his voice, the way he cooked only for an army (did he ever learn to pare that down?)..... his generosity and his general sense of fun! He has never been forgotten by me, and I know none of you will ever forget him either.... I hope you are all well, and this pain is...?I won't even try to kid you. I don't know if it ever goes away........... but I hope it fades to a sense of peaceful remembrance! Miss you all........... love and sympathy laurie and tribe (Bridget, Matthew, Jonathan and Andrew).....

Kent: I was sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. It seems like it was not that long ago that we all were sitting around your house and listening to your dad yell "KENT..EAT". I still remember those times as some of my favorite. It still cracks me up. Where has the time gone? Please let your family know that we're thinking of all of you. Your dad was one of a kind. E-mail me when you have an opportunity. We'd enjoy hearing from you. Take care!

Your father was such a very special person. I moarn his passing, but he gave so many wonderful moments to those he loved. I knew him from the Elks, J.P.olocks, the J.C.s...Well,I am going on, but I am so (not glad) that he is now out of the pain that he had gone through. He will always be E. Hemmingway! What a guy!

Dear Kent, I was so sorry to learn of your Father's passing. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him, but I am certain he was a wonderful man by what I have read about him, and from knowing his wonderful son Kent. You and your family will be kept close in my thoughts and in my heart. I pray the Lord will touch you and your family and let you all know He is with you now and always. Love, Missie Eshbaugh

I was Jim's nurse on and off for the last several years at the VA and saw him through many crises. The last few months were very difficult for him as his health quickly declined. I will miss him.

Jim was a long time brother-in-law and always tried to show us a good time when we visited. He had a great sense of humor except when he made me drink spinach juice when I was nursing, said it was good for me. He also made lousy giblets but insisted they were great. Had some fond memories of Jim and he will be missed. My condolences to the family.

Martha Layne (6/13/2001 12:12:06 AM)
Boys, I was sorry to hear about your father. I was very young when your Mom and Dad married so he was always like a big brother to me. I haven't seen him in many years but will always remember him as part of our family. My prayers are with you.

Marti Blase Van Veen (6/12/2001 6:02:08 AM)
I was so sorry to read of your Dad's passing in this morning's News-Press. I think this website is a wonderful tribute to him. I sent the website to Laurie and Jenny - I am sure they will also want to send their sympathies. We also lost our Dad last August. I pray that your memories of your Dad will comfort you during this difficult time, and that you will always remember the laughter and good times you shared. Marti (Blase) Van Veen
