James F. Tambling

James Fremont Tambling, 67, of
Gainesville, FL, formerly of Fort Myers, FL, died on June 2, 2001.
Born to the late
Charles F. and Audrey Crossett Bixby Tambling in Leominster, MA. on August 29,
1933, Mr. Tambling served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Tingey during the
Korean War. He was Assistant Vice President of Citizens Bank in Flint, MI,
before moving to Fort Myers, FL, as Vice President of Lee County Bank in 1969.
He later had a building business, was a sales manager for real estate and
automobile sales, and later helped with his two sons’ Internet business in
Gainesville. Mr. Tambling was an active member for many years in the Jaycees,
the Elks, the V.F.W. and the Shriners. He was also active in politics, chairing
election committees for candidates in Michigan and Florida.
He is survived by
his five sons, Kent and Brett of Gainesville, FL; Kevin and Randall of Fort
Myers, FL; and Rodney and wife Andrea of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are his
former wife, Wilma Faye Layne, and her brother Ronald Layne and family of Fort
Myers, FL, other in-laws, and nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceeded in
death by his brothers Larry and John Tambling.
A memorial service
was held by the immediate family. Arrangements were made by Worth Crematory,
